When is the due date for Fall 2024 term fees?

Fall 2024 fees are due in full by July 31st.  Miscellaneous charges that are posted throughout the year are due by the last day of the following month of assessment.

How can I make a payment?

There are a variety of options for making payments toward your student account.  Please visit Payment Options | Student Accounts (yale.edu) for more information.  Please note, the university does not accept credit or debit card payments on student accounts.

Does Yale offer a payment plan?

Yes. A Yale Payment Plan provides parents and students with the option to pay education expenses monthly. It is designed to relieve the pressure of lump-sum payments by allowing families to spread payments over a period of months without incurring any interest charges. Participation is optional and elected on a term basis. The cost to sign-up is $50 per term.

Depending on the date you enroll, you may be eligible for up to five installments for the fall and spring terms. Payment Plan installments will be automatically deducted on the 5th of each month from the bank account you specify when enrolling in the plan.

For more information, please visit: Yale Payment Plan | Student Accounts.

I cannot pay my fees by the due date.  What will happen?

Past due accounts will be assessed a fee of $125 per month (up to a total of $375 per semester) if the term charges, less Yale-administered loans and scholarships that have been applied for on a timely basis, are not paid by the due date.

In addition, a Financial Hold will be placed on the student account. The hold will remain until the term charges have been paid in full. While on Financial Hold, the University will not provide diplomas and reserves the right to withhold registration or withdraw the student for financial reasons.

I am a parent and want access to view and pay my student’s fees.  How can I set this up?

Proxy Management is a web-based system that allows students to grant others access to selected student records and/or to the Student Account.  Through Proxy Management, students can grant others the ability to

  • Access YalePay to view the Student Account and make payments online
  • View grades
  • See holds that have been placed on the student’s Yale account

Establishing Proxy Access

Before the proxy can view a student’s records or pay fees in YalePay, two processes must be completed:

  1. The student must authorize access.
  2. The intended proxy must accept access.

Please visit Proxy Access and Authorization | Student Financial and Administrative Services for illustrated instructions for authorizing and accepting proxy access.

I am expecting a refund.  When can I expect my refund?

Eligible refunds based off of excess Title IV financial aid will be automatically refunded within 10 days of being posted to your account.  Refunds based off of other funds must be requested by the student through Yale Hub.

After logging in, select Student Accounts and then Refund Request from Student Account.

The fastest and most convenient way to receive a refund is by direct deposit to your personal, savings, or checking account (for banks located within the United States only). You can enroll for direct deposit of your Student Account refund through Yale Hub. After logging in, select Student Accounts and then Direct Deposit Authorization

If direct deposit is not authorized, the refund will be mailed to the Mailing address on file.

I see I am being assessed for Health Insurance but I have alternative coverage. Can I waive this fee?  If so, when is the deadline to waive?

You may decline enrollment in Yale Health Hospitalization/Specialty Care coverage by submitting an online waiver request. A waiver must be submitted annually and received by:

  • September 15th for the full year or fall term
  • January 31st for the spring term

Waivers will be processed and credits will appear accordingly on your student account within 5 business days of your waiver’s submission.
